Providing a Menopause-Friendly Workplace

What does your company do to help women better manage menopause-related symptoms?

For many women, menopause can have several physical and psychological effects – including hot flashes, depression, anxiety, headaches, loss of energy, body aches, etc. – that can impact their performance at work. A significant portion of a company’s workforce may be affected. There are steps an employer can take to ensure that menopausal women are supported and feel comfortable in the workplace.

Relevant training or information are seldom given to employees. With little support, women often find it difficult to voice their symptoms to their employers or coworkers. Providing a suitable work-environment to help employees manage menopause-related symptoms, such as one that includes employee access to temperature regulation controls and cold drinking water, can make a difference.
