HR Advantage is seeking a talented production supervisor for a manufacturing company in Lamar, MO!
The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing daily operations on the production floor, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The supervisor will lead a team of production workers, oversee production schedules, and collaborate with other departments to optimize manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Leadership:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to production staff.
- Monitor employee performance, conduct evaluations, and address any issues or concerns.
- Production Management:
- Oversee daily production activities to ensure adherence to schedules and quality standards.
- Monitor production processes and make adjustments as necessary to optimize output.
- Ensure production targets are met while minimizing downtime and wastage.
- Quality Control:
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet specified standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Work with the Quality Assurance team to address any non-conformance and improve processes.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance with all health and safety standards.
- Conduct safety training and promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, and implement corrective actions.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
- Resource Management:
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials and supplies to prevent production disruptions.
- Coordinate with the supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of resources.
- Maintain and manage production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Prepare and submit production reports to management, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
- Ensure that all documentation is complete and compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree or higher in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- The ability to read prints and SolidWorks or AutoCAD knowledge a plus.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, Lean Manufacturing) are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Capable of working in a factory or industrial environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
